Cara-Friend would like to thank Translink whose LGBT+ Network and Charity Committee went above and beyond in raising £1000 to support our services. The donation is also in recognition of the training and support Cara-Friend have provided to Translink staff. The 2024 Belfast hub of OUTing The Past returns to the Ulster Museum, Belfast on Saturday 27th April from 10am - 1pm.This year's wonderful range of speakers will cover a variety of topics detailed below. All are welcome and the event is completely free.Afterwards there will be a Story Discovery Workshop led by Queer Britain from 2pm - 5pm, exploring the importance of our individual stories and how they help form the UK's national LGBTQ+ history. Yesterday Cara-Friend along with sector colleagues from Here NI and The Rainbow Project had meetings with the Chief Executive and Community Relations Manager of Belfast City Council to discuss ongoing developments towards the future LGBTQ+ Hub. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for our community and we are incredibly grateful to everyone at City Council for helping to make this a reality.
SUBMISSIONS OPEN - This year LGBTQIA+ Awareness Week will take place from Monday 13th to Sunday 19th of May with the theme "No One Left Behind - Equality, Freedom and Justice For All'. The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia will take place on Friday 17th May. Cara-Friend are working closely in partnership with our colleagues at The Rainbow Project and Here NI to bring you a week of events, and we've partnered with the wonderful artists at UsFolk who have designed our wonderful new logo below.
