All schools have a duty of care for their pupils. This includes looking after their physical safety and mental health, as well as their personal development. Often schools can be a difficult environment for LGBTQI+ young people, and this can affect their wellbeing. A Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) is a great way to counteract this; allowing pupils, from all walks of life, to come together to promote acceptance of and support for LGBTQI+ students within the school community.
