Family Support Project

Family Support Project

Cara-Friend provides a monthly meeting space for the families of LGBTQI+ people. These meetings are for parents and other family members to come together to chat with other families in similar situations, to share experiences of when a loved one comes out and to make friends with others that have been in a similar position. We also offer one to one support, help and guidance. If you think you or another family member could benefit from being involved with the Family Support Project please contact Jo at joanne.mcparland@cara-friend.org.uk.

You can check out our Parent’s Resource for advice and guidance on how to respond to your child coming out as LGBTQI+, this can be found on the Resources section of our website.

If you are distressed or require help and support out-of-hours, please contact Lifeline on 0808 808 8000. Lines open 24/7
